DAL Design’s first historic preservation project was the adaptation of the 1930 Woolworth’s department store into a mixed-use development. The first floor evolved through several phases into a retail space, beauty salon, and office space, while the second floor became eight very in-demand apartments. The building’s original manual lift elevator is still place, although now it sits halfway between floors in a glass display case. Altogether 206 North Main includes 6,000 square feet of non-residential space and an equal amount of apartment space.
