Just across the street and one block north of 206 N. Main is another DAL Designs adaptive reuse project in historic downtown Bryan. We don’t know exactly how old 212 N. Bryan is, but the oldest photo the owner could find of that block showed his building there as of 1895. Since then it was a bakery, an electric supply store, and prior to being abandoned and neglected for twenty years the original site of the ever popular Casa Rodriguez restaurant (they’re still in business in downtown Bryan, by the way, and some of the best Tex-Mex you’ll find in Aggieland). The current owner finished the upstairs apartments in mid-2017, and the downstairs retail/office areas are currently available for lease too. Here’s a few before and after photos to show how far gone the building was – and how it looks today!
